Boys and girls, fourth grade and up, who are trained to assist the priest during the Mass celebration. There is always room for children to join this important ministry! Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for Mass assist the clergy in distribution of the Eucharist. Application for training and commissioning is made through the parish office (843) 522-9555.
Members of this ministry decorate the sanctuary, prepare and arrange flowers for weekly Masses and special feasts. Call Camille Prince at (734) 560-4436.
The hospitality ministry, formerly the greeter ministry, welcome the community, distribute worship guides and bulletins at each Mass. A smile and a kind word are all it takes to participate in this ministry. If interested, please call parish office (843) 522-9555.
The gift bearers present the gifts of bread and wine to the altar at each Mass. Families are selected prior to Mass by the ushers or call the parish office if you would like to be a gift bearer in advance.
This ministry strives to lead parishioners in worship of God through sacred music that is firmly planted in the vast, rich musical heritage of the Catholic faith. Singers and players of musical instruments are encouraged to join one or more of these groups: adult choir, children's choir, Coro Hispano. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24 hours a day in Our Lady's Chapel located behind the main sanctuary of the main church. Adorers are scheduled in one hour blocks so that someone is in the Chapel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please contact Cayce Dickens (585) 615-0372.
Each Monday morning at 6:00 am, members of this ministry dust, sweep and mop sanctuary area and then check the hymnal pockets for trash or missing books and blue welcome envelopes. If interested, call Anna Sudomerski (843) 597-1879.
These are the members of the parish (English and Spanish) who proclaim the first and second readings during holy Mass. Special training is required. Please call Jack Gannon (843) 597-0912.
These individuals prepare for the celebration of Holy Mass. Among other duties, they assure the correct liturgical colors are in use, the candles are lit, the book readings are marked, and the linen pieces are available and appropriate. They also attend after Mass to the cleaning of the cups that have held the Blood of Christ and the lavabo bowls. Training is required for this ministry. The members of our safety team help the greeters and ushers welcome everyone, while on the lookout for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. They are stationed in different areas of the church and be prepared to help in the event of an emergency. Contact parish office if interested.
Ushers assist in seating and help Mass attendees with miscellaneous questions and concerns as they relate to Mass attendance. We perform weekly head counts, do the collection and initiate the chain of custody for collection materials and select gift bearers. We help guide people to Communion.
