Father Rodolfo and I have been so happy to be able to serve you in person again over this past week. At our first public Mass on Monday, it brought tears to my eyes when I said, "The Lord be with you!" and I heard the small congregation respond, "And with your spirit!"
For those who feel ready to come back, we are looking forward to seeing you and worshipping together as a parish family!
While nothing will be entirely risk free, we have done everything in our power to reduce the risk to what one might experience going to a supermarket or the pharmacy. We have even constructed several stations to enable distribution of Holy Communion as safely as possible during this time. They will look a little odd, but we hope that they help to give the faithful some extra protection and peace of mind.
A special shout out to our facilities manager, Rob Widenhouse, who worked hard to build the stations in time for the weekend! They turned out amazing. Thank you, Rob!
And a big thank you to our staff, who have given up their weekend so that our parishioners can come this weekend and just enjoy being back in Mass. We are all excited to see you again and serve you!

In the photos above, you can see some of the ways we are trying to ensure social distancing in church. Our staff has marked off every other pew with ribbon (white like Easter!), and the ends of each pew have been marked off to indicate a six-foot section in the middle. We will be helping everyone to be seated on the ends, in such a manner that six-feet separation is maintained between parishioners of different households.
For more details on the other precautions we are taking, following Bishop Guglielmone's guidelines, please click here.
Normal confessions will resume at the beginning of June. Since everyone has been unable to attend normal Confession during this time, Bishop Guglielmone is allowing general absolution during May, so those who would like to receive Holy Communion can do so in a state of grace.
We will be starting each Mass this weekend with the opportunity for general absolution. To receive the general absolution, one must be in physical attendance (not over the internet) and if you are aware of mortal sins, intend to go to individual Confession as soon as it becomes available and confess those sins.
After this weekend, we will no longer begin all the Masses with general absolution. Next Saturday, May 23, we will offer opportunities for general absolution at the following times:
English: 10am, Noon, 2pm
Spanish: 7pm
We continue to pray for our sick, as well as our doctors and medical professionals. See our prayer lists and our Mass intentions here. Please let us know additional people to add for prayer.
We are beginning a new series of faith messages about the early Church, shared in the local papers and online. Click to see our latest message, "Two by Two."
A lot of people are enjoying studying Acts in small groups or on their own at hope. You can read the latest installment of our six-week bible study here: "He is Risen!"

Please know that we want to help any of our families who might be struggling financially during this time. Just call the parish office and ask for Anna.
